Develop Your Pitch Recognition
Note identification is the first step in ear training. When you can instantly recognize a C from an F# by ear, you've built the foundation for transcribing melodies, improvising with confidence, and communicating musically with other players. This trainer presents random notes across three octaves — your job is to identify the pitch.
Tip: Try singing the note back after you hear it. Associating pitch with your own voice strengthens neural pathways and makes recognition faster. Start by focusing on a few notes (like C, E, G) before expanding to all 12.
